Partner & Co-Founder, Bootstrap Europe

Fatou is a partner and co-founder at Bootstrap, based in Paris, where she focuses on the sourcing, risk evaluation, negotiation and due diligence of new investment opportunities.
Prior to starting Bootstrap, Fatou co-founded TREE together with Stephanie where she focused on investment, selection, due diligence and performance optimisation of clients‘ direct holdings in private companies. Fatou also contributed to the set-up and implementation of the African Risk Capacity, a $100M sovereign risk insurance facility against drought in 22 countries.
Fatou worked at Citigroup in their London and Johannesburg offices, where she spent over five years advising European and emerging markets clients on cross border acquisitions, high yield debt and equity financings.
Her work experience also extends to strategic advisory to the CEO at SFR, France’s second largest mobile operator, as well as Standard and Poor’s in London, in the sovereign credit ratings team. Fatou is originally from Senegal and holds a BSc in Economics and Finance from the University of Calgary, and graduated from the HEC Business School in Paris where she majored in Finance.
