Oscar Jazdowski is Market Manager for Silicon Valley Bank. He is currently working out of Silicon Valley Bank’s UK office on the bank’s application for a new branch office in Germany. Oscar has over 30 years experience of financing technology companies at all stages of development, from young venture-backed start-ups to large multinational companies across a broad base of technology and life science sectors.
Having started his career with Bank of Boston in the UK, he transferred to the USA in 1983 to join the bank’s High Technology Lending Group. Over the next 13 years he held various positions, including setting up and running Bank of Boston’s Silicon Valley office in Palo Alto, California, where he oversaw the development of numerous relationships with prominent Silicon Valley technology companies.
In 1996, Oscar started the East Coast Technology Group of Imperial Bank (now Comerica), providing debt financing and other financial services to young, emerging, venture-backed companies. He then went on to open, and spend two years running, the East Coast office for Sand Hill Capital in Boston, prior to joining Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) in 2002.
At SVB, Oscar focused on delivering financial services products and solutions to multiple sectors of the IT, technology and life science industries, leveraging SVB’s extensive global network to connect people and companies together so as to expand business and grow revenues.
In 2010 Oscar was transferred to Silicon Valley Bank’s UK branch as Head of Origination where he oversaw the growth of the business from 11 people to 65 and helped in obtaining a full banking license.In 2013 Oscar was transferred to SVB’s joint venture bank in Shanghai, China, SPD Silicon Valley Bank (SSVB). At SSVB Oscar ran the Corporate Banking Group which spanned operations in Shanghai and Beijing. He also participated in helping obtain a full banking license for the bank in China.In April 2017 Oscar returned to SVB UK to work on the German banking license application.
